Quest Partnership’s MD, Max Choi is again involved with the above conference and will be presenting at the conference. He and fellow presenter, Alan Howard will be delivering the paper: An Alternative to Personality Questionnaires: Introducing Personality Tasks.
Assessment Centres are often supported with personality questionnaires and such questionnaires have been used for many, many decades. But is this really the best way to assess personality in high stakes recruitment? After all they are self-report questionnaires and therefore they are relatively easy for candidates to manipulate or to fake even. Also, everyone has blind spots or poor self-awareness – so we may introduce a lot of error with these self-report tools. Max and Alan have been researching and developing an alternative and direct method of assessing personality, where respondents are asked to complete tasks – known as Objective Personality Tasks (OPTs). It is not obvious what the tasks are measuring, and typically one just focuses on performing the tasks, so we measure real and natural behaviours which underpins one’s personality.
Max And Alan will describe how they developed these OPTs and the research to date to assess the Big Five personality factors and how they are assessing important personality areas required by organisations. Delegates will be shown some of these new OPTs. So find out about the latest innovative, new approach to accurately assessing personality.
Max is also promoting the UK Assessment Centre Standard at the conference. This was developed by a team of Occupational Psychologists lead by Max and Helen Baron, on behalf of the British Psychological Society. So you can pick up your free copy of the AC Standard and talk to Max and Helen.
Note that this year’s UK Assessment Centre conference is a joint conference with the International Congress on Assessment Center Methods – so a truly international conference with speakers and delegates from around the globe. It will be a great international learning experience and a great networking opportunity to meet like-minded people from all over. The theme of the conference is:
Hi-Tech, Hi-Touch, or Both? The Future of Assessment Center Methodology
Key note speakers include some well recognised assessment centre experts e.g. William C. Byham, George C. Thornton, III, Sandra Schlebusch.
